You Are Exactly Where You Are Supposed To Be!

Raul Midon Concert

This week I had the opportunity to go to enjoy a concert from Raul Midon.  This was my first time seeing him, and I must say, he is very impressive.  If you have an opportunity to see him, I would recommend it.

One thing really stuck out to me, specifically his lyrics to his song “Everybody”.  Here are just a few lines:

Everybody is free to make a difference

Everybody can be somebody

Everybody is free to make a difference in this world.

You don’t have to be a big celebrity

To feel the power, the power in your soul

…To realize that in your eyes there’s a view that only you can see

There was something so powerful in those words when he sang that song.  Something so simple, yet so profound.  Sometimes we let our challenges hold us back.  We let our “disabilities” hinder our progress.  But yet – only YOU can make that difference in YOUR world.  It doesn’t matter what you think of yourself – there is no one else who gets to enjoy the same view that you have.

We looked a bit at Ephesians 2:10 last week (go back and read my post here if you have not read that).

Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”

Even going back to Psalm 139 – You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made!  You are one of a kind. You are unique.

I seem to have a hard time conveying my point here – trying to find the right words.

I hear people talking about how they “wish I had it like that person” or if I had that job or that money or that ________ you fill in the blank.  The obsession with believing that the grass is greener on the other side.

That, my friends, is such a fallacy.

You are exactly where you need to be.  You are exactly who you are supposed to be.

Hear me out – I am not ignorant of the troubles we can face.  The pains that we can experience.  I am working through my own individual trials.  I have said for some time now that I am in a pruning season…and if it were up to me, I am ready to be finished with it – but I have to trust that God has me where I am, in this season, this stage, these struggles for a perfect and divine reason.

No one gets to enjoy the view I have from my own eyes.  God created this view just for me.  I just have to sit back and realize that I can make a difference.  That I am God’s workmanship.

Question:  Are there times when you feel that the view from your eyes is not what it should be?
